Look, I Get It!

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, so, naturally, you're going to have questions about the deets! For that reason, I've put together a list of the most common questions that a couple usually has about me and my role on their big day.

How does the process work?

I try to make booking as simple as possible. Just give me the main info about your wedding (date, location, how many hours you need) and I'll check my availability. If I'm available, we'll schedule a call to go over your wedding day and any questions you may have. If you decide to book, I'll send you an agreement right away. In the agreement you have to pay 30% of the total cost and sign and we're good and booked for your date! For portraits only, my process is similar except I require 50% as a deposit.

How would you describe your style?

I try to be as authentic to the day as possible but also making sure we photograph anything that's important to you! This means I love to get candids of your guests reacting to the speeches, but I also know how important it is to have those posed family photos with Grandma Sue. It also looks like getting photos together that are naturally styled but I'll also help you when you don't know what to do with your hands.

Do you need a shot list?

I only require a shot list for family portraits so I can organize it ahead of time and put it in an order that will make that time run quickly and efficiently so we don't run behind on other photos. I have a shot list for this already made where you can check it off the family variations you'd like photographed.  I would actually prefer to not have a shot list for anything else as it can hinder creativity and slow down my work as it would become another thing to look back to frequently and make sure I did. I do however have standard shots I can send you that has all of the shots I typically take on it. Please however feel free to send me any photos that inspire you or if there's a special photo you'd love to recreate!

How many hours do I need?

A good indicator for how many hours you’ll need is your guest count. Typically the more guests you’re having, the bigger your party and the more coverage you’ll want. When you submit a request for a quote, I'll send over a detailed pricing guide, which can tell you the amount of hours you might need. Every wedding is different, so I'm happy to help you create a package to fit your needs!

How do I book?

Woohoo! This is my favorite question. To book, all you have to do is fill out my contact form, and I’ll do the rest! Once I get your inquiry, I can set up a phone call if you would like, just to go over any questions you may have. After that, I’ll send over my agreement along with a link to pay your retainer; a signed agreement and paid retainer gets your date officially on my calender!

How much do you charge?

My packages start at $2000 but once you inquire you will get a detailed pricing guide listing each package I offer. You can also custom make a package if none of them fit your needs.

Do you charge a travel fee?

Depending on the location of your wedding, I may charge a small travel fee. If you are within one hour of Wilmington, NC no travel fee will apply. If you are beyond that it will be an additional 70 cents per mile and if beyond three hours I may require two to three nights of accommodations.

Do you offer any payment plans?

Yes I do! To book, I require a 30% retainer. After that, you can pay the remaining balance whenever you want. We just ask that the balance must be paid in full two weeks before the wedding. So if you'd like me to split that second payment into smaller spread out payments, I can definitely do that for you!

Do you only do weddings?

Nope! I also offer family, maternity, newborn lifestyle, bridal, and engagement sessions.

What if we are bad at pictures?

I'm all about capturing your actual and unique relationship. I utilize a prompt style photography where I will give you a small action to do, then capture the real reactions that take place between you guys. There's absolutely no way to do this wrong; your authentic reactions as a couple is what makes you guys awesome and what I want to capture

Do you give raw photos?

We do not give access to the raw photos that are taken. Why? Around 80% of the photos that are taken aren't suitable to be called a 'finished product'. It's our job to give you the best of the best, let us do the work of finding and delivering the best to you from your big day!

How do we get our photos?

Your photos will be delivered through your own private online gallery that is shared through your email. For weddings your images will be delivered within 6-8 weeks. For couple/engagement sessions, you can expect your images within 2-3 weeks.

How many images should we expect?

A good rule of thumb is to expect around 50 images per each hour of shooting.

Do you offer any discounts?

While I don't offer any discounts, we are more than happy to help out with a custom payment schedule that fits your needs.

What happens if we cancel or reschedule?

In the unfortunate event of having to cancel or reschedule, the retainer is non-refundable as the date of the event has been held on my calendar and I have likely turned down work for this same date. The only instance where this doesn't apply would be from an "act of God" situation (death, pandemic, natural disaster). You would have to pay a new retainer fee if you are booking a new date with me and the act of God situation does not apply. So please be 1000% sure about your date/venue when you book with me!
